Book Making
Intensive Introduction (suitable for beginner to
intermediate students)

This course is an introduction to book making. Students will start to master
the methods and techniques of conceptualization, structure, book binding,
layout, pagination, and basic printing, as they become skilled in the
preparation and use of all tools and supplies, including board, papers, straight
edges and cutting implements, adhesives, awls, book bones, clasps, book cloth,
and waxed thread. Exercises will be introduced to students in structured
lessons supplemented by practical demonstrations. We will make books of
various sizes, structures, materials, and uses toward the goal of developing a
new understanding of what a book is and can be.
No previous experience is necessary.

Tuition payment for the

11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, from Monday, February 20th through Monday, February 27th,
2012. Payments will be received in the Registration
Office at the
ELC Learning
Center.
