Book Making Workshop

This course is an introduction to book making. Students will start to master
the methods and techniques of conceptualization, structure, book binding,
layout, pagination, and basic printing, as they become skilled in the
preparation and use of all tools and supplies, including board, papers, straight
edges and cutting implements, adhesives, awls, book bones, clasps, book cloth,
and waxed thread. Exercises will be introduced to students in structured
lessons supplemented by practical demonstrations. We will make books of
various sizes, structures, materials, and uses toward the goal of developing a
new understanding of what a book is and can be.
No previous experience is necessary.

Learning Annex during the payment dates shown below (you can come in person or
send someone).
Tuition payment for the Summer Session will take place on Saturday and Sunday,
July 4th and 5th, 2009, at the ELC Learning Annex between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00
p.m..

Register early to reserve your place. Payment must be received on time to
complete your enrollment and maintain your reservation in the class(es) for
