Intensive Introduction (suitable for beginner to advanced students)

Fun packed sessions with Modern Jazz Dance Choreography!  Be warned this dance is addictive, once you've got the bug, you won't want to stop!  Whether you are a singer or performer who wants to improve your dancing on stage or an amateur dancer who wants to dance more-like a professional.  Whether you have never tried dancing before or you are the boss of the dance floor, we will teach you all the best moves and how to make the most of them.  This course will liberate you from everyday life with up-tempo, heart pounding, contagious Hip Hop, R n B and Broadway music.  You will leave each session feeling invigorated, energized, refreshed, and ready to face the world.

Our exploration will begin by learning the basic Hip Hop steps, incorporating all of the latest techniques.  We will then progress into sequencing these to a funky tune.  Each week, we will review the previous sequences and then build upon them until the complete song is choreographed.  As your experience grows, you will learn the technique of Jazz Dance, focusing on the placement of footwork and the alignment of the body as well as building on musicality.  We will also use popular musical numbers such as ‘New York New York’ and ‘No business like show business’ to develop our Broadway-theater style of dancing.  All of our sessions start with a thorough aerobic warm-up as well as isolation sequences.

Upon completion of this course, everyone will have an opportunity to perform their funky new routines on stage to an audience!
