Feng Shui (pronounced "Fung Shway"),
is the ancient Chinese practice of living in accordance rather than in
discordance with nature and your surroundings. Join us as we cut
through the myths and hype surrounding this fascinating subject, and
explore the common-sense notion that our lives are truly and deeply
affected by the physical and emotional environment in which we live.
Feng shui practitioners strive to achieve harmony by aligning themselves
with their environment in order to enhance their lives and
relationships, as well as their general health and well being.
This course is a journey into the rewarding field of feng shui, in which
we will explore its history, principles, methodologies and techniques,
as well as its relationship to the related fields of architecture and
design. Learn how to identify energy and position yourself and the
objects in your environment optimally so as to foster its positive and
abundant flow. We will cover all of the fundamental aspects of
feng shui, including the general selection and use of space, the
placement of objects, the four directions, the weather, astronomy and
geomagnetism. We will also examine the history and science behind
these principles, the yin and yang of cosmic balance, the 'form' and
'compass' schools, the five elements and their cycle and relationship to
everyday life. Come and find out why Donald Trump, Rupert Murdock,
and Oprah Winfrey are all serious adherents to the practice of feng shui,
as we explore the specific relevance of 2013 and 2014, how to calculate
with your Kua nr, and how to evaluate the feng shui of your house,
office, or other unique space.
