Here in China's most international city, more and more people are
entering into the fascinating study of the Japanese language in order to
converse with friends and colleagues. This course focuses on
teaching the basic structure and correct pronunciation of practical
phrases and expressions to get you conversing as quickly as possible.
We will employ the most-current linguistic theory, emphasizing active
communication over more-conventional text-based learning, grammar
drills, etc., providing you with the skills to communicate easily and
effectively in any situation. Instruction will take place in
English and of course Japanese, with a higher percentage of the time
speaking Japanese as the course progresses. You will be guided
through a variety of communication activities leading from structured
practice to free expression, while gaining helpful insights into
Japanese culture and society. There will be ample opportunity to
practice your newly acquired vocabulary and grammar structures in small
and large-group activities which simulate real-life situations and offer
intensive practice in the everyday use of the language. This
course offers a pragmatic approach similar to immersing yourself in a
new culture. Come and experience the passion of Japanese in a fun
and supportive environment.
