Garth Mc Intosh
3D Animation

For nearly ten years, Garth has been immersed into the field of animation and design, having completed his diploma in animation at the prestigious Boston Media House and his graphic design studies at 5th Dimension.  Garth's career in animation is inspired by his real-life fascination for the physical movements of the human body in action, which is also manifested in his intensive study of martial arts (double black belt and 4-time national champion), surfing, rock climbing, snowboarding, and photography.  His professional career in animation began at the Refinery Post Production House in Johannesburg, where he served for four years as a 3D animator in charge of character animation, character rigging, organic and in-organic Modeling, Lighting, and 2D Animator, responsible for In-between, Clean up, Coloring, Shadows and highlights.  Later projects include character animation, lighting, and 3D camera work on Fairy Tale, a Video Lab Production.  Garth's passion for images and motion also extends into his career as a professional photographer, and his photographs have appeared in numerous sports magazines including SA Mountain and Logic Body Boarding and Surfing Magazine.  He later headed the graphics department as 3D animator and combustion artist responsible for both 3D and compositing for the start-up TV channel "Legal TV" in Birmingham, UK.  His experiences in movie and television production also took him onto the Bollywood production of Harry Puttar as assistant grip in charge of camera and lighting.  More recently, Garth has worked as a university lecturer and subject coordinator for both 2D and 3D as well as photography at a prestigious Shanghai University.
