Jeffrey Clarke
High-Performance Training and Learning

Jeffrey ClarkeDuring the past eight years Jeffrey Clarke has trained more than 600 Chinese managers and employees.  He has experienced first-hand what works and what doesn’t in the areas of management, training, motivation and performance.

After 25 years of hospitality management experience in the United States, Clarke was brought to Shanghai in 1997 to open and operate the Shanghai American Club.  He was faced with the challenge of opening the first international private club in Shanghai since 1937.  His pre-opening programs provided the local staff with the skills and confidence they needed to deliver 5-star service to the club’s exclusive membership.

Clarke’s next assignment was to open and manage the Shanghai Racquet Club and Apartments.  He trained and groomed local staff to provide high quality Western-style services for the community’s Western expatriates and their families.  Today SRC is perhaps the most successful expatriate community in Shanghai.

In 2003 Clarke opened his own consulting company, Quality Leisure China, which provides a variety of services to real estate developers, club operators, and others in Shanghai and throughout China.  High-performance training is at the core of his consulting services, and it is the part which Jeffrey enjoys the most.

Jeffrey lives in Shanghai with his wife Jiang Yi, a Shanghai native.
