in a broad variety of sectors and industries. Holding an MBA
Finance, MBA Healthcare, BA Business Economics and a Medical Degree,
Mr. Magyari is uniquely versed in both business and public
service. Besides positions as CEO, MD and COO, he has served as
the key decision maker on projects extending to the scale of the $2
Billion Structural Development Program within the European Union.
Below are some key positions and responsibilities held by Mr. Magyari over the
past 20 years.
Life Science Diagnostic IT Services Company, APAC Director, China operation
Head of business development, China and Indonesia. Setting up
telemedicine operations in China, for servicing APAC region.
Distribution of Point of Care (POC) diagnostic rapid tests and contract
manufactured products in China and Indonesia. Regular coordination with
China pharma distributors in Shanghai area, supervising national
registration and distribution process.
CIRA Medical, Managing Director
Managed the planning, development, operation and sale of a start-up IT
company servicing a state-of-the-art integrated
telemedicine-teleradiology service center, built around the latest
cloud-computing technology. Developed a custom designed ERP (clearing,
billing, payment) module integrated to the application’s front end,
similar to which is not yet available in the market.
Raised funding in excess of US$ 1.5M, in the form of seed capital
(business angel), bank loan and EU development grant financing.
Coordinated the work of company staff and subcontractors throughout a
multi location environment, in the US and in 3 countries of
Europe. Led
the process of international roll-out of services, as well as
negotiations with private equity funds.
VARGAS, Managing Director
Raised investment bank financing for and managed the preparation phase of a major infrastructure
project in South-Sumatra Province of the Republic of Indonesia. Personally arranged the securing of the
legal framework of the project by a global law-firm, and obtained the Letter of Intent in the value of US$
360M.
Coordinated the work of a vast network of business people, institutional and private investors, as well as
high ranked public administrators in Indonesia.
Developed the business plan for, and obtained a Letter of Intent on
investment bank financing of a US$ 240M solar energy park in Spain.
Advised clients on utilization of European Structural Funds.
Contracted by European Commission, advised on the Economic
Competitiveness Sectoral Operational Program of the Ministry of Public
Finance, Romania, granting €2.5B to SMEs.
Developed a nationwide business valuation model and study on projects in
the Renewable Energy Program of the Ministry of Environment, Hungary.
Led consulting team on major property development project for Raiffeisen Investment Group.
Ministry of Economy and Transport, Hungary; State Secretary
Headed 120 personnel and four departments, including the strategic
planning and development department, managing development programs
co-financed by the European Structural Funds and Cohesion Fund
Programs, totaling €2B.
Headed both Economic Competitiveness Operational Program and
Environmental Protection and Infrastructure Operational Program.
Launched as first among 50 programs of the 10 new European member
states, Hungary's Economic Competitiveness Operational Program.
Maintained senior level working relationship with the European
Commission, European Investment Bank and European Investment Fund.
As the Vice-Chairman of the Indonesian-Hungarian business committee,
organized and chaired several Business Councils, liaised with
Indonesian government officials, facilitated private and public
initiative projects in both countries.
Managed Railway Healthcare Services, Hungary's largest healthcare
provider group consisting of 3 inpatient hospitals (1,500 beds total),
a nationwide chain of 6 outpatient clinics and 3 recreational
facilities, operating with a turnover of US$ 70M.
Personally coached and sponsored the successful internal organizational
merger and a US$ 2.5M ERP/EMR system procurement project for the
nationwide network, comprising 15 geographical locations.
Developed a group level procurement procedure of services, equipment
and materials, resulting in 10% lower annual investment budget
requirements and operational costs.
OTP Banka Slovensko, Bratislava, Deputy CEO/VP, Head of Operations
Directed and managed the entire day-to-day operations of OTP Bank's new
acquisition, in the field of finance, reporting, controlling, IT and
logistics. Volume of operations: 55 branch offices with a staff of 800+
personnel.
Managed the harmonization of operations in a different legislative and
technology environment, with the holding Bank's back-office
procedures. Finalized pending items of the M&A transaction by
technical
resolution of open issues.
Implemented latest group-wide procedures and managed restructuring the
Bank's bad-debt portfolio. As a member of the Bank's Asset and
Liability Committee, supervised loans provided to major clients. Headed
the Bank's leasing company.
OTP Bank Hungary, Managing Director, Downtown Region Budapest
With full P&L responsibility, headed a staff of 500+ people in 23
branch offices. Managed US$ 2B or 13% of the Bank's total assets,
returning 20% of the Bank's total net income at the largest and most
profitable of the seven regions, which by assets exceeded the second
independent commercial bank in the country.
As the top sales executive of the regional relationship managers,
finalized retail, corporate and other money market instrument product
sales to corporate key accounts and major private banking customers.
As a managing director of the premium region, personally initiated and
executed several projects in our region, subsequently implemented
throughout the Bank's nationwide network, with 8,000 employees.
Managed as a pilot project in Downtown Region, then headed the
nationwide implementation of a complex 'General Ledger (G/L) Project',
which was to develop and change the Bank's internal G/L accounting
procedures, and the development of supporting software. The project was
rolled out in 400+ branch offices staffing 8,000 personnel, and as a
result the Bank shifted to report its G/L on T+1, that is the next
business day. By the results of this successful project, not only did
the Bank demonstrated latest operational back-office procedures, but it
also avoided severe penalty imposed by the National Financial
Supervisory Authority.
Developed and implemented a comprehensive proprietary Human Resource
Inventory and Management Program: for Downtown Region, Effectively
managed and provided a great improvement opportunity for the Bank's
most valuable intangible assets: its human resources. Built around a
competence matrix of the branch staff, then expanded to an array of
salary and bonus brackets, it was supported by an educational and
training incentive scheme. As result of the system and the project, the
staff's individual and overall network-wide skill development level with its
associated costs became an accountable and predictable budgetary item.
OTP Bank Hungary
Managed a business process reengineering project of the Bank's branch
network. Headed a team of 30 experts and implemented the project in 200
branch offices, with staff of 3,000. Achieved a major saving on
operational costs followed by a 15% reduction in personnel.
Budapest 2nd District Outpatient Clinic and Health Services, Deputy CEO
Led a US$ 0.25M major reconstruction project of the clinic servicing a
population of 90,000, and directed the public procurement tender of
essential medical equipment. Raised financing from the clinic's owner,
the District Local Government, and managed the facility's yearly
financial support.
The World Bank's Public Health Program, Budapest, Hungary
Served as Project Manager, at the Ministry of Healthcare, for major
components of a US$ 90M World Bank grant for Hungary. Planned and
implemented organizational development schemes and internal procedures
of the project, liaised with World Bank managers in Washington, D.C.
and in Budapest, and independently managed US$ 0.5M public health
demonstration projects. Developed and maintained project budget,
project
schedule and reports along with compensation schemes of local and
foreign consultants from the EU and the US.
Arthur Andersen Audit and Business Advisory, Budapest, Hungary
Supported audit team conducting due diligence, business advisory and
year-end inventory count assignments of banking, food processing,
cement manufacturing and transportation services clients of the firm.
