Introduction to Psychology
Stress Management

Lusa Hung holds a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (with a specialization in Diversity) from Argosy University in Hawaii.  Lusa's interest in multicultural issues in psychology has brought her to Shanghai where she is now providing child and family counseling, conducting psycho-educational assessments, and consulting with families and schools while working with expatriate children and families as a Psychologist and Educational Consultant at Special Education Consulting Shanghai (SEC).  She is also driven by a personal interest in exploring and improving the field of psychology in China because of her Chinese heritage.  She does intake meetings, provides counseling, and conducts Q&A sessions in Mandarin.  Prior to working in Shanghai, Lusa has done clinical work in California, Hawaii, and New York.  Throughout her career, she has provided individual, couples, group and family counseling in a variety of settings including county outpatient mental health settings, day treatment programs, substance abuse clinics, school settings, community and home settings, residential treatment centers, forensic outpatient settings, and state hospitals.  She has also provided psychological and psycho-educational assessments in state-funded regional centers, schools, private and public facilities, and military bases.  She has worked with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the lifespan with such challenges including Autism, Asperger's Disorder, Mental Retardation, Cerebral Palsy and Seizure Disorder.  She also has experience working with managed care companies where she provided clinical case management, crisis intervention, behavioral health condition (disease) management, employee assistance, WorkLife consultation, and telephonic EAP assessment and referral.  Lusa also has vast experience in providing training, seminars, and workshops, and will be a panelist and presenter at the Chinese Mental Health Development Summit in Wuhan in October 2009, where the mission is to explore directions and strategies for the development of mental health in China as well as ideal ways to improve Chinese mental health.  Lusa is an active member of SIMHA (Shanghai International Mental Health Association) and APA (American Psychological Association).
