Yoshi Jacobson
Dance: Hip Hop and Jazz
Dance: Latin American

Yoshi JacobsonYoshi Jacobson began her classical dance training at the age of five, joining Khulsum's school of dance, where she was trained in jazz and contemporary techniques.  This early technical foundation opened the door to a future of dance, as she undertook an amazing 28 years of International-Competition-Level training in Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Jive, Waltz, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz and Tango, Choreography, Hip-Hop, Modern, Classical, African & Street Dancing, Ballet, and Ballroom, among others.  She has studied at a broad range of schools, including 5 years at the Laban Centre for Dance in the UK.  In 1997, Yoshi opened "The School of Dance Moves" for children aged 8 to 18 in Sri Lanka.  Her school's most notable achievements are first place in Sri Lanka's "All Island Dance Schools Competition" in 2001, and first place in Hip-Hop in Sri Lanka's "International Schools Dance Competition" for four consecutive years!  While developing her school and students, Yoshi continued to develop herself professionally, mastering a wide variety of dance styles and winning numerous awards and prizes that include First Place in both the International Ballroom Championship in Singapore and the National Latin American Dance Championship in Sri Lanka.  Yoshi is also an accomplished choreographer, having professionally choreographed productions of Little Shop of Horrors, West Side Story, Wizard of Oz, South Pacific, Annie Get Your Gun, Phantom of The Opera, King and I, Moving On, The Hunch Back of Notre Dame, The Boyfriend, Oliver, Cinderella, Reading Ritin and Roking, A Musical Kaleidoscope, and Greece.  Yoshi now has over twelve years experience teaching Hip Hop, Modern, Ballet, Jazz, Latin, and Ballroom dance styles, and is more enthusiastic than ever to pass on her knowledge to those who are passionate to learn.
