Mixed Media Art Workshop

This course is intended to introduce students to a wide range of unique techniques as an alternative to or to use in conjunction with the more classic mediums of oil, acrylic, watercolor, graphite, charcoal, and pastels.  Students will learn to work with collage, stamp making and printing, plaster, engraving, oil pastels, and wood panel.  Exercises will be introduced to students in structured lessons supplemented by practical demonstrations.  We will work with a variety of subjects in the styles of realism, semi abstract, and abstract, and will view and discuss the techniques and styles of various contemporary artists toward the goal of developing a personal vision and style.

As this course will introduce advanced techniques and is reliant upon having achieved a certain level of facility with classic materials, students should have completed Drawing and Painting II or the equivalent.

Please note: classes are kept small for the students' benefit (generally between 6 and 12 people).  Register early to reserve your place.  Payment must be received on time to complete your enrollment and maintain your reservation in the class(es) for which you have registered.  (Any course that does not meet sufficient enrollment may be cancelled and a full refund provided upon presentation of your original receipt.)
