Intensive Workshop (suitable for intermediate to advanced students)

This is an intensive painting workshop meant for students to focus on brushwork, color theory, and the use of various extenders, drying agents, and mediums as well as address conceptual and compositional issues.  Basic painting instruction will be available, but this class is primarily for students who have had some visual art experience and wish to further develop their understanding of painting.  Students will work through the process of gathering information, making sketches and studies, conceptualizing their intention and then completing one main project.  Oils will be the primary medium although acrylics can also be used.

Students should bring basic drawing materials (graphite, charcoal, erasers) and paper to the first class.

Please register online first to reserve your place.  You will then receive a confirmation email with further details.  Next, payment must be made on site at the ELC Learning Annex during the payment dates shown below (you can come in person or send someone).

Tuition payment for the Summer Session will take place on Saturday and Sunday, July 4th and 5th, 2009, at the ELC Learning Annex between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m..  Click here for map.

Please note: classes are kept small for the students' benefit (generally between 6 and 12 people).  Register early to reserve your place.  Payment must be received on time to complete your enrollment and maintain your reservation in the class(es) for which you have registered.  (Any course that does not meet sufficient enrollment may be cancelled and a full refund provided upon presentation of your original receipt.)
